ID Fans are used
1. Boilers
ID fans remove burnt gases (flue gases) from boilers and send them to the chimney.
Industries using them:
- Power plants
- Textile industries
- Food processing plants
- Chemical factories
2. Furnaces
Used to remove combustion gases from industrial furnaces.
Examples:
- Steel furnaces
- Heat treatment furnaces
3. Kilns
Used in industries like:
- Cement plants
- Ceramic kilns
- Lime kilns
The fan pulls gases from the kiln and sends them to dust collectors or chimneys.
4. Pollution control systems
Often installed after dust collectors or scrubbers to pull gases through the system.
Example flow:
Boiler → Dust collector → ID Fan → Chimney
Why ID fans are important
- Maintains negative pressure in the furnace. Prevents smoke leakage.
- Removes combustion gases safely
- Improves combustion efficiency
- Controls temperature and airflow
